What’s a Vacation without a Cell Phone?

12th May 2017

Okay, so you’ve arrived at the airport, you’ve collected your bags, your rental car, and you’re just getting ready to head to your hotel, when you realize: you have no idea how to get there. You immediately reach for your cell phone to use the map, but since you’re traveling from another country, it doesn’t work (without a huge charge!)

Until recently, you’d have to get a separate GPS and one of those “throw-away” flip phones to do the job. But luckily, now you can simply rent a cell phone in Las Vegas & Orlando.

But today we’re going to imagine what it would be like in two of the hottest travel destinations in the country if you didn’t have a cell phone. You’ll quickly see why it’s just as needed as a rental car or tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil (you’ll get it in a moment.)

Our first stop: Sin City itself. Let’s head to Las Vegas.

If you’re heading to the U.S. from out of the country, Las Vegas is no doubt on your list of places to check out. You’ll no doubt want to check out “O” by Cirque du Soleil, if you’re interested in tasting some local beer, the Sin City Brewing Co. could be your spot, and of course, there’s the infamous Strip.

Whether this is a trip for gambling, shopping, a conference, or even a family affair—you won’t get far without a phone in hand. Say you want to head to the strip, but you’re not staying nearby and you don’t have a rental car. Easiest (and most economical) thing to do: order a ride! You’ll need a phone with an app that can do just that. (Think Uber or Lyft.)

Or perhaps you want to see some shows while you’re in town and you didn’t want to lug your laptop on your vacation. You’ll need a smart phone with Internet to buy tickets.

And of course, there’s simply staying together and planning with your friends and family. Especially if you’re not all staying together in this crazy town, it can be hard to organize and stay connected with so much going on.

Having a cell in Vegas is not just practical—it’s practically necessary. I mean, remember the movie The Hangover?

How different would that have ended up if only they’d rented a good smartphone, iPhone & iPad in Las Vegas from Dyal?

Our second stop is quite a different sort of vacation—it’s kind of like the Las Vegas for kids: Orlando, the home of Disney World.

I recently went to Disney World myself and do you know how many times during one day I needed to use my cell phone? Twenty-one. Twenty-one times I needed to text or call my friends to find out where they were, or when we should meet up!

And Disney isn’t even the half of it: in Orlando there are shows, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, meals to plan and coordinate with everyone—not to mention if your kiddo should wander off from the group at one of these adventures. It might even be a good idea to rent phones for all adults and all kids over a certain age, just to make sure everyone sticks together.

The point here is: when you’re in a city like Las Vegas or Orlando where there is simply so much going on, it’s a good idea to have a way to stay in touch, find your way around the city, make any emergency phone calls, and plan your trip.

And with Dyal it just got a lot easier. Check out DyalRental.com to find out more about iPhone & iPad rental in Orlando & Las Vegas.
